Verrazano Bridge 2

This is the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, more commonly called the "Verrazano Bridge."  The view is from Fort Wadsworth, Staten Island, NY. It's named after the explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano, albeit that he spelled his name with two "z"s.  It was the longest suspension bridge in the world when it was constructed in 1964.  As of 2018 it ranks only thirteenth in length but is still the longest suspension bridge in the Americas.
